It is better to have loved and lost then never to have loved at all?

God I hate that saying....

I'm still torn about that one,...

Been on both sides of the fence at one point...

I think its good to know what the potential is for happiness,.. but at the same time,. I was fairly happy when i was ignorant to the fact of what it truely meant to be in love,....

I think it depends on the result of the "loss" maybe,..
yes,. i know this sounds shallow,.. but if its a case where he/she died,.. then you lost by default (unless you killed them) and so maybe it would be bad,. but not too bad,...

but if they end up with soeone else,.. theres the fun time of feeling the sting that someone else has the thing you desire most,.. and wondering if you'll ever get that back and such... and that is a pretty shitty feeling if you've ever had it happen ( i think all those experienced can agree)

so yeah,.. right back to sitting on the fence with that one,....

Love is pain.

It truly is; if you think about it, to have love and lost will tear your heart, soul, and body apart until you are nothing but a person full of malice, anger, and anguish. To never have loved would be a miserable life; nothing to look forward to, only the materialistic things in society. Love is bliss; it makes everything seem brighter and better in the world. But love hurts; once love's ended, you feel as if you aren't human. Love is a human emotion....we should cherish it.

So, in summary, yes. Without love, life would be meaningless. At least you have some happiness in your life, however short a time it may be.

ahh, the question of all time. well i see it with 2 sides. if you have loved, then you have experienced the great joy of feeling love from someone. to have someone gaze into your eyes and feel like you are the most important person. BUT, when something happens, and that person is gone, you are left with this immense pain in your heart and soul and it feels like nothing can fix it. but if you let it, time will take care of it.
then there is the flip side, if you never had loved, then yes you would never know that feeling of love, but you wouldn't know the pain that goes along with it.
confusing isn't it?

It is better to be loved unconditionally and then losted than never been loved. At least you will have wonderful memories and you can cherish them for as long as you want.

Absolutly. Consider yourself 50 years down the line. Would you rather be alone with some pleasant memories or alone with the knowledge that if only you had had the courage to try you might have been fullfilled.
Make the effort or life is a waste.

if thats really your picture than i would be as bold to say "matey is a mug if he chose to jump ship & not wake u next to that boat race every morning"!!!!!!!!!!!im sure @ 1st its hard but look @ the bigger picture, there are far worse things that can happen to ones self in life & take heart from that & soon you'll realise that the the ocean is a swarm & its only a matter of time.things happen for a reason & your time will come again..............

I think so, to go through life never knowing the pleasure and excitement of being in love. Well, that would be a very lonely and sad life. God bless****

It depends.
In my belief, loving and losing launches you through a rollercoaster of emotions, but you may be bitter and unwilling to love again after.
Having never loved at all.... well, just seems lonely and boring to me.
