I've been thinking that question about since I was a little girl. My parents have a strong faith in Jesus and they told me about him every day. I got older and I had many atheist friends. And I didn't want to believe. But one year in a christmas service when I heard the old story I already knew by heart once again - I suddenly understood what they were talking about. And on Easter I prayed the first time (again because of a service). This has been a few years ago but still I can't understand why the LORD has done that for us. He gave his only son for us so we can be redeemed. This is the best thing that could happen to us. I wish so bad that many people find the only way to happiness. God bless everyone in here!! Merry Christmas!

I know that I'm a sinner and ask for forgiveness every day and believe in the entire bible as it's written. It makes me feel warm knowing i have a home forever and Jesus is helping me get there so i guess you can say i don't have any doubts.

I find it a little hard to believe that jesus, being a human male, had any idea who I am while he hung on the cross dying, if it ever took place. I don't know people who haven't been born yet, let alone what type of moral or ethical choices their, as of yet undeveloped, brains will lead them to make later on in their lives. And yes, if you hadn't noticed, I doubt your god's love for me.

All of us wasn'e even born yet. So how the hell does he love something that doesn't even exist then? What you're saying doesn't make sense.
I don't doubt God's love for me but I sure wished that he'd love the 11millioin people starving in Africa instead of me, an atheist who's getting on fine and doesn't believe He's real. And Jesus was talking about the people of Jerusalem you moron! Learn some history for God's sake.
Do you know that Jesus was a bigot?
In Matthew 15:22-26 we find this telling conversation:
A Canaanite woman from that vicinity came to him, crying out, "Lord, Son of David, have mercy on me! My daughter is suffering terribly from demon-possession." Jesus did not answer a word. So his disciples came to him and urged him, "Send her away, for she keeps crying out after us." He answered, "I was sent only to the lost sheep of Israel." The woman came and knelt before him. "Lord, help me!" she said. He replied, "It is not right to take the children's bread and toss it to their dogs."
Still think He cares for you?

Do you know that Jesus was accepting of all - regardless of race, religion, sexual orientation, beliefs, etc? Do you know that some of your fellow humans feel differently from you? Do you know that righteousness is a sin against humanity? Do you remember that the bible also says to love/accept others in "my image"?
I applaud your faith and belief in something but please do not use guilt on me. My spirituality is a personal journey.
I have also seen "preachers" wave the bible while encouraging others to use violence against people. I have seen murder justified in the name of Jesus. I have seen families judge as "sinners" when they are faced with hard personal choices.
Keep seeking instead of religious "sound bites".

I don't think about it because I don;t believe Jesus died for our sins.
I think he was murdered by the Romans who were afraid he would start a revolt, and had willing accomplices namely some of the Jewis Rabbis.
I don't think he died for our sins for two reasons.
1. Jesus claimed to be the ONLY son of God in only one chapter of the bible (the third chapter of John). Everywhere else he called himself the son of man.
2. When his disciple Phillip asked "What must I do to be saved"? Jesus gave him two commandments
"Love the lord thy god with all thy soul, strength and mind"
"Love Thy neighbor as thyself"
I didn;t see a third commandment that said "Worship me as Deity".
There are two different forms of Christianity over the past 2000 years
1. The religion OF Jesus
2. After the Catholic priests tampered with the scriptures; Christianity became the religion ABOUT Jesus.

God doesn't exist. The whole cross story is used to spur emotion so that people are more likely to convert and remain converted.
This is a good example of how religion uses emotional manipulation of human insecurities to gain converts. Just look at the other answers given here by believers. It's all emotion and no substance. Now, that's sad.

To tell you the truth, I have once doubted God. But now, I live for Him alone. He has been more than loving. I want to express my love for Him, for what He has done for me and my family. I have proven and experience more than my doubts. Thank God!
