Heres my situation in simplest form.
I like girl A
Girl A likes guy A
Girl B is Girl A's best friend
Guy A likes Girl B, who doesnt like him back
Girl A AND Girl B like Guy B, and its obvious that hes going to break their heart if anything ever happens. I have explained this to them many times and they both say "they get it and they know"
So I totally give up on anything ever happening between Girl A and I.
What steps should I take to stop liking Girl A?

I dont want to completely shut myself off from the outside world. I still want a life and I still want to be friends with her, I just dont want to like her.
I can try to avoid her for as long as possible

You know, so many women I have known have been in the same situation as "girl A". They fall for the *** h@le.
It happens again and again. They all know full well that he is no good an yet somehow, they convince themselves that he likes them.
Come out completely honest and say what you feel and be specific about what you want.
Tell this girl what you like about her. (not her stupid eyes, dig deeper)
Tell her how your relationship will be with you.
Tell her if she does not love you then you respect that, but you also think that she should have a relationship with someone else that is nothing short of amazing and loving.
Let her go to this other guy. She will soon find out he is a jerk.
Sometimes people just have to learn for themselves.

In my personal experience there wasn't a guy B and guy A was a d*ck, so I got over it by just realizing that if that is the kind of guy she wants than she can have him. We were still real good friends but I just got over her in time.

Take a break from them, find other interests and a wider circle of friends. Try to keep it casual, they too might welcome the break and A either appreciate you more or B have time to sort things out on their own. Sometimes girls liek to have a bit of time to sort stuff on their own too;)
And sometimes girls like guys who have their stuff all sorted out and cool within themselves;) (just a lil secret).

just shut your eyes off everything and be addicted to computer gaming to occupy yourself. sooner or later, you'll realise the wonder that time can heal all wounds. good luck. and if possible, don't spend so much time with the girls/guys A and B
