My kids adore it. Its a kids show.... Its not meant to be entertaining to adults.

Dora may be boring to us, but not to children. Toddlers thrive on repetition, and repeatedly doing the same things, saying similar things, and constantly asking similar questions are all things they love. Dora not only teaches children Spanish words, but also geography, numbers, animals, culture, and more. Asking for their assistance during the show to "help" Dora solve a problem is not only encouraging the child to participate, in turn increasing the amount that they're learning, but it also helps to raise their self-esteem. When Dora proudly proclaims that they are "right", and that they have helped her, the child is filled with a sense of self-worth for aiding their favorite character! Simplicity is the key with shows like Dora, and although it may seem boring to us, to a preschooler that doesn't have the same complex thought processes as us as adults, it is an extremely stimulating show.

Because they are little kids. Dora is perfect for their maturity level. I can say the same thing about some of the music and tv shows my 12 year old watches.

Kids love Dora because of all the repetition kids need repetition to learn , they also like the fact that they are "helping" Dora to solve her problems.She makes them feel important and needed.

It is boring to you, because you already know the stuff. Kids learn when information is presented repeatedly in small "bites" mixed in with silly songs. If you watch a steady diet of these programs, you will find that they are all boring and quite annoying...but this is how little kids learn and that is why your little sister loves it.

i would rather have my daughter watch dora, barney, blue's clues, the wiggles and all the other educational channels for children, rather than having her watch cartoons that have fighting and weapons and swearing in them! i dont mind watching the childrens educational channels with my daughter, because most of the time i make it a fun time by interacting with her during the shows like dora, barney and blue's clues, im like a kid myself when it comes to watching her favorite shows, it makes the time go by faster and my daughter just loves it!

because dora interacts with kids cause she always needs help finding places and it teaches kids some spanish

Because it keeps there short attention spans and it gets them into the show SHe needs help and they really think that yelling at the tv is helping dora :)
it will drive you crazy but its better than the wiggles be happy

Jeepers.....thank god they dont make tom and jerry like they did when i was a kid 24yrs ago! The VIOLENCE in it!
