Curry's do really cheap sets, although my personal favourite is Mapilns electronics. Although I heard ASDA were doing really cheap electronics.

Personally you do still have time to order on line from places such as a Amazon (First Class). Please note that a cheap DVD player will give you cheap results. Many DVD may not play, the unit may be noisy and certain functions may not work.

You get the quality you pay for.

I'm also looking for a multi-region dvd player at the moment, although not necessarily the cheapest. I'm afraid that you are going to have to do some research before you decide. Don't get Sony. To buy a multi-region Sony, you will have to pay a premium - that's their policy, and I think it sucks! I bought one a couple of years ago from Maplin, a Yamada. You could go into their web site and get hold of a code, which you entered into the remote control. This code gave you the option of changing the region covered by the player. Very useful, that. Have a walk around Currys, and ask one of the assistants for help. If you pick the right assistant, they could help you. Some of these players are actually multi-region, but not advertised as such, but the assistants quite often know which is which. Good hunting!
