Ok question one: Why???? Marriage is supposed to be when 2 people join as one, not when 2 people join as 1 and invite others to be a part of their life(as in sexual) .I just dont think that this is a good marriage. I think people who do this have completely lost the idea of what a true legal marriage is all about. But to each their own. Eventually someone will tire of it.

I personally could not do this, but I am friends with a couple that have an open marriage. It totally works for them. They don't get jealous, and they are very happy, and have been married for a long time. They are all over each other like a couple of teenagers. I am a jealous person, so I couldn't do it, so it depends on the couple.

It comes down to the same reason most people aren't for gay marriage either...because they're not like you. Whatever another couple does with their love life shouldn't concern any of you. If it makes them happy then why are you so upset? Secondly not everyone marries because the bible tells them to. Some of us do it for non-religious personal commitments. If you don't want any other man but your husband for the next 50 years then cheers for you...but if your husband wants to watch you get it on with two other people then that's fine too. Either way it's none of anyone elses damn business.

I think that as long as both partners understand each others decision then it might be a great thing! I mean, how could any one get cheated on? my husband and I allow each other to have crushes. Just the other day I told him about one of mine. I also laugh my head off when he flirts with other women in front of me. Now, this being said , we would never agree to an open relationship sexually. but like I said, if it works for certain couples, then why not.

I don't like it. As some have said, its a breeding ground for STD's.

You might as well not get married so you can do anyone you want and don't have to worry about any divorce settlements because SOMEONE will get hurt in that type of relationship.

I would never agree to it.

I think that there is NO love at all in a marriage like that. If I had a man in my life, he would have my WHOLE heart, and I sure as heck would NOT share him with ANYONE.
Open marriages are a slap in God's face, sorry.

That is not a marriage. That's being able to throw a wedding party for no reason.

I practice, I think it might be tough.....

First, there has to be no jealousy by either partner.

Second, what if person A wants to sleep with person B, but person B is off with person C ?

Lastly, I think it might be tough to separate love from sex.
