actually, I think I will have to do a surgery because supposedly they have to be removed before they come out. So it will not be just a simple extraction. I'm not really sure when I'll have to do it

I'm 15 and mine hadn't come up completely but they were pushing on my other teeth so they had to come out. I had them all out. I was asleep and when I woke up my mouth was completely numb and I couldn't remember anything and I was so doped on drugs I couldn't walk. It hurts after the numbness goes away. The dentist gives you strong painkillers though. I was so scared because I had needles and to put me to sleep I had to have an IV which is a gross needle in your vein in your arm,but they gave me laughing gas before they put it in so I was calm. Your cheeks will get really big and swollen and you will look like a chipmunk. Don't suck out of a straw after the operation because it will give you dry socket. Also, remember to finish all the antibiotics the dental surgeon prescribes. I learned that the hard way and developed a painful infection and I had a bubble of stuff in near my wisdom tooth hole and it burst and white stuff leaked out the hole. It was gross. Eat soft foods after the operation and rinse the holes gently with salt water after meals. Good luck!

You should probably call your orthodontist and find out if they think you should have your braces placed so soon after getting your wisdom teeth removed. I would tend to think two to three weeks would be more comfortable. Getting the teeth removed is not usually painful because you're either numb or you are asleep. Though you will probably be fairly sore for the next two or three days after that. Most people probably would not be up for a driving class the next day. Also, if you are taking any pain medications such as Vicodin, he should know that it is illegal to drive while taking those (you can get a DUI). Take care.

If all they are doing is pulling, no it doesn't hurt at all as long as you have a good dentist. They'll use a local and numb you. If you are having them surgically removed, it doesn't hurt either. However, you can get a condition called "dry socket" that does hurt really bad. It's a pain that radiates from the surgery and around your jaw and sometimes down the neck. When you start to feel this pain, call your oral surgeon immediately no matter what time of day. They will have you come in and they will repack your sockets with clove oil. The only side affect I had from this procedure is the fact that I now love to chew clove gum. Good luck.

I had 8 teeth pulled at once one time, including the wisdoms. The pain all depends on how you handle it in the first place. Some people are bedridden when they have a simple headache. I for one, can take a lot of pain. The night I got my teeth pulled, I went to a lasagna dinner at a friends house. I remember the blood more than anything else.

It depends on the person and also the oral surgeon.
Follow the doctor's instructions carefully- ie, steriods to prevent swelling, pain meds as needed, special diets, no dairy, etc.

All three of my kids each had 4-8 teeth pulled and had no problems probably because we followed the doctor's orders!

Nope I had all four of mine yanked with only local anesthesia it was fine. The most pain was on the third day after the surgery and it wasnt enough to warrant pain killer

No big deal at all. Beware of getting a dry socket, but don't do like I did and leave the gauze in for two days. Started tasting like a dead mouse.

I will not lie yes it is painful. had mine out a few years ago. but they hurt for like a day mine did. My face didn't swell but my sister looked like a chipmunk. I guess it just depends on your pain tolerence.
