Yes you are quite correct,I have had Malware a few times by doing this and so now I never click on any of these sites on Q&A

Yeah. So far so good--no viruses. Early yesterday when the first scam came out by "man" I clicked on the link not knowing, but clicked off the download half way through it. Did a deep scan with my Ad-Aware SE program and nothing. arf!

I unfortunately clicked onto the website just as all of that was starting the other day. So far, no signs of trouble, but I am being vigilant. I'm sure that if there is indeed a virus involved, we will hear about it soon.
