My 3yr old autistic grandson will not keep his glasses on. He has been wearing them for a year now. When he gets mad he jerks them off and throws them. He has broken them several times. My daughter has even gotten him the kind that you can twist and bend, but yet, he has still broken them. Is there a kind that is indestructable and he can't get out of easily?

Even it he doesn't keep his glasses on it should not be a problem. Watching a 3d movie without glasses can't hurt your eyes. It will have the double vision effect because he will see both images for each eye at the same time, but I have had to watch a snowy channel on tv before because the channel was not coming in clear with the rabbit ears. Didn't hurt my eyes. You can still easily tell what is going on without the glasses on.

punish the kid. Seems he can just have these tantrums and when he throws a fit, he gets away with the tantrum and costs you more money to fix the glasses. I would cut him off from the things he enjoys and send him for time out and a nap. Kids can be bad and not all of them are angels but tantrums should not be tolerated.
