Revelations question?

I'm don't know much about the bible but I've heard it says that in the end, we won't be able to buy or sell without the mark of the beast. I just saw a special on WalMart that says WalMart is actually commandeering manufacturers pricing. It says never in history has a retailer had this much power. Could WalMart be the beast and if we don't have a credit card or something from them we won't be able to buy or sell anything?

For one company to gain control of the entire economy of the world would be a trick even for Walmart. This will take political power. Who knows Walmart could move into that arena too... Jim

WalMart is the "beast" of marketing for sure! But not the "beast" of Revelations. It says that the mark will be on the foreheads and right hands of all who follow the beast.

But the mark is not some Matrix, microchip thing which is popular in some Christian circles. The forehead can be interpreted as total intellectual acceptance of and alligiance to the Beast: what he does, who he is, his intentions. The right hand symbolizes a working acceptance, where people devote their money or energy into the beast's ruling operation. I don't think technology has anything to do with it.

I Don't think Wal-Mart has anything to do with it. As far as the beast I believe it might be (a) government. The Mark of that beast Is 666 the number of man the Bible says. Being a number that means something to the people back then, as other numbers such as 7, 40 etc.
I believe that the mark on your hand and forehead are not literally a 666 or a bar code, but the mark of man is seen in the hands of man that are thief's,killers ,abductors so on and so forth.
The mark on the forehead are of the type of thoughts someone thinks and reveals to others, letting others understanding were you are coming from, as far as godly, or un godly. Those could be the identifying marks of the Beast. How we carry our self.
Godly people are mark by Gods spirit. The mark of man is supported by the beast. oh well probably got both side hating me now.

Walmart cant be "the Beast" The beast will be a man.
Walmart is beyond powerful, It is a classic example of absolute power leads to absolute corruption. This corruption is "Greed" beyond human comprehension.

Now watch and see if Edward (6) Castro (6) Wright(6) takes over from Lee Scott, as CEO of walmart, then you may be onto something.

No silly. However, I clearly remember..... 30 years ago my Christian Grandmother commenting on this very thing. She didn't understand how that would come about....or how the world would have one currencecy.....that was before credit cards hit big and the EURO. I recently read about a supermarket in CA having your finger print on file and deducting your bill from your checking by the customer simply swiping their finger across a pad. A couple of years ago I read of the middle east considering going to one currency. It's coming about my dear. Probably not in our lifetime.....the main prophecy is that it will occur after the Gospel has been preached to all nations (some say to all people....as in individuals)

Interesting thought but I highly doubt it. I think the number of the beast prophecy applies to the Government. Though Wal Mart is under attack by a socialist/liberal conspiracy so I'll bet you'll hear alot of nonsense about Wal Mart in the future.

The Beast refers to a Man and his world system of dictatorship and people will one way or another carry his mark in that they are his worshippers,but maybe this kind of consumerism is the beginning of this system.
