hi mate
i am a true animal lover and obviously to enjoy your pet to the fullest its nicer if there well behaved...
the answer is simple every time your cat does something that is naughty you spray them with water, but one of those\little water sprayers there only a couple of quid, and trust me it will work if you stick at it.
good luck and may you and your family hae a fantastic xmas x

Usually a loud noise when the cat is misbehaving should do the trick. They don't need to be told off again and again. I got my cat from adult and in her previous house she was allowed to scratch the furniture and the walls. It took me a week to get her to understand that it's not allowed in her new house. No problem since. However there is no point trying to correct bad behaviour after the event...it'll make no sense to your cat.

if you don't want to get your furniture or carpet (or cat) wet - try locking the cat in the bathroom for 10 minutes when it's naughty. No longer than that - the cat will forget why it's in there but will realise whats going on after a few days.

Worked for me. :D

The best ways are to spray water ONCE, or blow in their face.

Make sure you only do this once, or the cat won't learn that getting wet, or being blown on is a direct reflex of it's actions.

So speaks a cat trainer.

Hope this helps.

They always reckon that spraying them with water is a good way of pointing out bad behaviour. When ever they exhibit the behavious give them a quick spray.

When cats have kittens, and their litter are being naughty, the mother gets them at their scruff of their neck and tugs at it. When he's naughty just get the scruff of his neck and gently pull it. Hope this helps x
