Instead of stairs how about a ramp. When our german shep could not take stairs anymore ( we had a deck with only about 8 steps ) my hubby just secured a piece of wide wood, we then stapled that green turf stuff on it for traction and put it along one side for him and we used the other side. Just something to consider, it would be easier then steps and you could easily remove it and slide it under the bed and since chi's are so small the width would not have to be too wide. Since its use will be indoor you could staple a strip of carpet to it for comfort. Good luck.

PetCo usually has carpeted pet stairs you can buy. I would be hesitant to let an 11 week old Chihuahua on the couch or bed since falling off could cause serious injury. I would keep the puppy on the floor until it is older.

steps might not be the ideal thing for her either you might want to just keep picking her up.but if this is something you want to try .go to any of the big hardware stores.like home depot .some places have the stairs already built that you put together or you can try a ramp .or put your mattress on the floor.i wont even say to get her her own bed because i have a chihuahua too.i know they like sleeping with there owners .good luck to you and your dog.

I have a little Lasha Apso with this problem. You can buy stairs at your pet store. Because I live on my own, I just let the bed be on the floor so now we are both close and happy. My little sweetie is 17.

Maybe consider purchasing a ramp to your bed or having one made. this will reduce the effects of climbing stairs. it is great to see an animal owner that actually cares about the health and well being of their pets and consider them more than pets.
