Hi ya I hope your cat is pedigree and registered for breeding with a fantastic personality, very friendly and over 2 years old and also FIV tested negative? if yes to all of the above and you live in the uk check out Kittymainia.co.uk it's great has a list of available stud cats for all breeds in the uk.

The first thing I'd do is to check out where the available stud cats were, contact one & ask the owner of the stud cat for advice.
Stud cat owners are generally very experienced breeders & should be available to give you lots of advice.
Try looking on the kittenlist list site when searching for a stud.
http://www.kittenlist.co.uk/index.php?page=studs&klv=282c16f0e7de4d5b3a05a41948796f6c
There are loads listed at open stud.
When I started I bought a book - The Complete Book of Cat Breeding by Dan Rice & found this to be a great help. Also try searching on line for info on cat breeding.
Just generally though, if you want to breed your queen - make sure that she is a good size for the breed, that she is in good health & has been wormed regularly & that generally, she is a good example of the breed - then look for a stud cat (if you can) who will compliment her & so lead to even better kittens. Again, a good stud owner will offer you advice.
I'd also recommend that you wait until she is mature or almost mature before breeding her. Different breeds mature at different rates. If she has started calling early, then I'd recommend that you go to your vet to ask for advice - they can sometimes give an injection to postpone calling until she matures. Some cats can start calling at seven months & this is too young for her to have a litter of kittens.

Unless your cat is a show quality, purebred with papers, my advice is do not breed the cat. There are too many cats in the world now, thousands are put to death monthly. A responsible pet owner should consider these things. And I do love the little critters but get mine as rescues from the local shelter. Think about it.

hundreds of cats are euthanized every day because of overpopulation. there simply ARE NOT enough homes. the saddest part is, alot of kittens don't even make it to a shelter to be put to sleep "kindly", people simply drop them off on the side of the road or in trash cans and leave them to die.
unless your cat is a purebred with documentation, don't cause anymore strain on this epidemic. the world has all the domestic felines it needs

If you are going to breed your cat make sure that you are going to be able to provide homes for all kittens. It is unfortunate that alot of people dont take this into consideration. Also the age and health of your animal shoud be considered.
Good luck. I would be interested to hear of your future ventures.

You don't say if your cat is a pure bread or not. If so then ask your Vet. for males in the area that are used for stud services. If your cat isn't a pure bread I'd get her spayed and forget about kittens.
