First she'll be making a lot of noise, basically 'calling' for a mate. Second she may start spraying, a problem with any un-neutered or unspayed cat. Finally try stroking her back, if she sticks her bum high up in the air then she is ready for something!
I'm assuming you bought her from a reputable breeder, if so then check the paperwork. The breeder may have registered your cat as not for breeding (not on the breeding register). If so you won't be able to give your kitten customers any official paperwork.

She will meow constantly, rub her rear end up against things, and just basicly be a pain to deal with. If you want to breed her, get in touch the the breeders association for her breed. You can find other breeders there who can probably help you. She will continue to go into heat about every couple of weeks for 2-5 days till she's bred. Be very careful-she will try to break out and go get "relieved". You may also find male cats hanging around outside your house. They can smell her from up to a mile away even if she is inside. They will be trying to find a way in. Good luck!

I can tell you the signs of a female cat being in heat. She will meow constantly day and night and if you pat her, she will hunch up her hind end. If you do a google search I'm sure you'll come up with the specifics such as age, time, cats come in heat, timing of when to breed. I think it's generally spring time, that's why there are so many kittens around in the spring and the animal shelters get overloaded.

Here's How:
Immediately preceding oestrus, your female cat may become unusually affection, and rub her hind quarters against furniture, other cats, and/or her favorite human.
The Queen (name for female cats of breeding age) will vocalize loudly. This "calling" may go on for several days, unless she mates.
She will assume a mating position: head down, forelegs bent, rear quarters raised to expose the perineum ( this raised posture is called lordosis), with the tail raised and held to the side of the body. Her rear legs will tread rhythmically, as if walking in place.
Queenie may also spray vertical surfaces with a strongly scented fluid. She will accomplish this by backing up to the surface and raising her tail high. The tail may quiver, and she may perfom the rhythmic treading described in step four.
If your female cat does not mate, she will go into oestrus as often as every two to three weeks, for several months each year, until she either mates or is spayed.

Believe me you will know when the little Darling is in heat! She'll cry and wiggle her rear end up in the air. She'll act all silly by rolling around on the floor. She will be quite comical. But the noise, Oh the noise! Meowing, crying singing and loud purring.

I have a buddy who has a cat (strange, I know..hehe) and when I'm talking to him on the phone sometimes, his cat is MEOWING VERY LOUDLY over and over...drives me crazy. I asked him what was wrong and he'd say his cat was in heat.

My cat sounds like she's dieing. Meows real loud at all hours of the night. When I first heard her I literally thought she was dieing.
