Hi, depending on how old your puppy it is, it can take up to six months before he lifts his left. It varies from puppy to puppy.

Personally I would prefer them to squat than to **** their leg up and piss on stuff. I also had a German Shepard many years ago that I raised from a pup and he always squatted. My dog now is two and a male and he squats to. Their just showing better manners than other males that run around marking territory...lol...Seriously though just depends on the dog and if you get him neutered at a young age they will prob. continue to squat.

I would get it fixed long before that happens. As soon as possible. If you do then it may never lift it's leg and will always squat. He will also do less marking behavior.

well my male pup started to lift his leg at 8/9months having never had a male pup before we wasn't sure whether this was average or not we have a female aswell and maybe he was later because he watched her squat.Your pup should develop in his own time it isn't a problem to worry about

If he is not neutered, he will eventually start to lift his leg. If you neuter before he starts marking, he may not start to lift.
