my sister makes terrible cornbread and i need help on making my cornbread rise. What extra ingredient or something will help my cornbread rise?

Use equal parts of cornmeal and selfrising flour.

Well, you didn't say whether you use self rising corn meal or not. If you are using self rising then perhaps you need to check your recipe... If using plain then add a teaspoon baking powder and salt OR as some of the others have said, use self rising flour in it....at any rate, baking powder and salt will always do the trick.

add self-rising flour; if you already do, add a little more. you should use 1/4 as much flour as you do cornmeal. good luck!
