I'll be spending a week in Ottawa after Xmas and I was wondering what was the sort of questions you are asked at customs.

They ask where you are going, business or pleasure, how long? and they are really upset if you are going to a farm or bringing in fruits or anything of that nature. Don't crack jokes either. They have no sense of humor these days.

If you are asking about US customs.. since you said that you are coming FROM France??? They almost always ask:
a) what was the purpose of your trip?
b) Sometimes ask what are you bring back?
That is it.

Usually they ask to see your flight itinerary along with a passport, where you're going, where you're staying, for how long and if you have anything to declare.

They ask the same questions as every aiport...the regular who what when where type
