Kissing on the cheek is a greeting, not a form of intimacy. Intimate kissing is what is forbidden between non married people.

Salam :) I'm a Muslim teenager living in Canada. I wear hijab alhamdullilah and it's for the most part accepted here since i live in a big city with a sizeable Muslim population. I do get the few ignorant comments and idiots at school though who ask stuff like "yo got a bomb under there hahaha". But the hardest part is being different from your friends. Being a Muslim, parties, alcohol dating boys wearing revealing clothing etc is haram, and while I don't want to do that anyway, it can be a little awkward to have to explain why I don't do it to people who consider it just a part of being a teenager and its ordinary to them. Muslims living in Muslim countries definitely have it easier when it comes to fitting in. And with food it can be a little tricky but I always try to read the label if I'm not sure of the ingredients. But I wouldn't wanna be any other religion no matter how difficult it gets and how different I feel from everyone else, I'm glad to be Muslim :)

Its not only Muslim Men kissing other men on the cheek but women do that too.
Its a friendly way to greet close friends and relatives. It has nothing to do with being Gay or in love.
When a Muslim meets a close friend or relative they kiss each other on one cheek then the other, it's a way of saying Hello and Welcome!
It's just like hugging your mother or father or friend when you see them.

In Islam, there is no boyfriend or girlfriend. You have to be married. In Arab countries, it is a greeting, but its not exactly a kiss. And a guy doesn't do it to a girl and a girl doesn't do it to a guy. And not every Arab is Muslim. Muslims aren't a race. Alot of Arabs are Muslims but not all.

1st this is tradition., when you are young you are adapted to that, so when you grow up you find it normal. it is a kind of respect and love.
we do this with our cousins, uncles, best friends only you grew up with. sometimes for elder person like grand father, father, we kiss their hands .
If you find it strange and forbidden, I see the same thing when I see a mother half naked with her daughters half naked also in the middle of guys that are not from the familly and the husband very happy.

dude, i live in an Islamic country all my life. never did understand any thing from them.
it is said that the Quran has mystical ways of explanation only to be understood only by the faithful. I am not even faithful to my own (buddist) so i try not to understand the Muslims. Answering just for the points lol.
