Nightmares are caused by subconcious fears, insecurities and past experiences. Like all dreams, they seldom have a literal meaning. So there's no need to worry that somewhere they are kittens trapped in a cage starving to death waiting for you to save them. One interpretation of that nightmare could be that you feel something innocent (symbolized by white -- a color denoting innocence -- kittens) is in danger of neglect.

If you're having so many nightmares so often, perhaps something is going on in your life to cause you an abundance of stress? Maybe you're feeling neglected yourself? Think long and hard about what's going on in your life right now. Your mind is trying to tell you something, but it never does so directly.

I have disturbing dreams, too. They're not as frequent as they were when I was younger, but even still, on some rare occasions, I've been known to wake my husband out of a sound sleep while screaming out. I've found that keeping a journal beside the bed helps. When I wake up from a dream, good or bad, I write it down in as much detail as I can remember. Then, when I'm more lucid, I go back and look over them. I've found that after doing that, I'm able to come to an understanding as to why I've had them. And, I'm also beginning to be able to take control of my dreams.

So, good luck to you. I hope these nightmares (especially the ones about kittens! Yikes!) go away soon.

The main thing to remember is nightmare's are your own symbols.
You can use dream books to help in understanding them.
But the best thing is to remember is to write them down or remember them to look over at a later time.
So you can work out what your subconscious is trying to tell you.

In nightmares that repeat themselves over and over.. if you can remember to turn around in a dream and face it.. it will normally change the dream... this in turn is trying to tell you to face alot of the things in your life your pushing down.

If we continue to push down our real feelings it will end up showing up in dreams or in our daily actions.

I would cut out the horror movies for now.. till you find out what it is your subconscious is trying to tell you..

Blessings ALD

Dreams are a reflection of issues we are dealing with in our lives and usually symbolic. You would have to look at your own life to determine what is going on so you can figure out why.

stop watching horror movies completely. I would suggest praying before bed. Sometimes demonic forces attack you when you sleep. Has happened to me several times.

Some people watch horror movies with no problems, but doesn't sound like the case for you.

If you're not a Christian, maybe it's a good idea to become one and to rebuke Satan in Jesus' name.

Anyway, blessings hope your sleep is sweet.
