I'm just curious at why people would hate the police. They risk their lives everyday but yet people complain about them constantly..If somone has a gun in your face, whos the first one thats gonna try to stop that person, If you're trapped in your vehicle and it's on fire, who's gonna drag ur booty out of it. I, for one, support the police with all i can, and i have a very gratious respect for what they do. Whos with me and whos against me on this?

Everyone should thank a Correctional Officer next time they see one, because Tmills is right, they are very under-appreciated, and they deserve as much credit as cops, firefighter, and medics....

I respect the men and women that put on the uniform everyday to protect the people who have to name. To go out with the thought that this day could be my last day in this world, just to defend someone that you don`t even know. That is courage my friend, that is honor, that is dedication. I would stop every time I see a police officer and shake their hands and say "Thank you, for being here today". Just like a firefighter, or paramedic police officers are true heroes who actually do good and defend the meek and the down trotted.

I am against you. Cops are the scum of the earth and deserve no respect whatsoever. It would be different if was prestigous to be a cop, like it is for a doctor or laywer, but it isnt. Cops are usually the ex-high school football lineman who barely graduate. You don't even need a high school diploma to be a cop... now what does that tell you!? We are giving the dumbest people in America guns and the right to bully people and abuse their power. They are just out there looking for trouble, like a retarded big brother or something. Police have no class and no standards except double ones. They can all rot as far as I am concerned.
Firemen, EMT, correctional officers... ya'll do a great job and thank you. But we need to stop wasting tax money by paying idiots to patrol our streets. Pigs have realized they don't have to answer to anyone, and they act accordingly.
Never been arrested.

I certainly support the police. I have had my fair share of run-ins with the cops but since I was the one disobeying the law, I deserved what was happening to me. I know that if I'm getting robbed or attacked or etc., they will be there as fast as they can to help me. I have a great deal of respect for them. ( I also happen to think they are incredibly sexy!! Just seeing a cop car gets me all wet! ) Seriously though, most people that don't respect them are low life criminals or paranoid conspiracy nuts. Thank you to every police officer out there. I appreciate that you care so much about me and my daughter that you would put yourself through all the stress you have to deal with everyday. Thank you.

I support the police, you're right, everyday they put their lives on the line to help people and make it safer for us to live. What I do not support are the laws and I think a lot of the people think that just because they are police officers that they are pillars of those laws, the truth is my father was a police officer for 17 years and if it was one thing that he didn't like it was some of the stupid laws that congress has pased. He is a human as all of us, he bleeds, cries, and hurts like we all do. A lot of officers out there truly are there wanting to protect us, some are there because they need a job, and yes some are there because they are crooked and they wish to break laws in their own favor, but relating to the question I think we should give them credit where it is due. If they are corrupt then we should hate them, but if they are simply making sure we are safe we should respect them and honor what they do. God speed and farewell.

I said it before, and I'm going to say it again. My family is in law enforcement and the military. Not all cops are good and not all bad.Just like anything else. It just seems with the media now that if a bad cop or cops get caught doing something bad, it puts the rest of them in a bad light. A larger percentage are there for us and they would give their lives and they have for a total stranger, it's not their job, it's more, it's their character.

Try being a correctional officer. We get little to no recognition for what we do. People have no idea what it is like being locked in a facility surrounded by murders, rapist, etc. Some people have the misconception that all we do is sit around and watch inmates. WRONG!!! I am a strong supporter of all law enforcement. What I hate is a corrupt or dirty officer, regardless of what branch of law enforcement he/she works.

I appreciate both the cops and CC's. I have done both jobs in the military and civilian world. If anyone hates them, I would hope they never ever dial 911.
In my time, we had people that dissed us, if we got a call from their home we would slow code it.

i support them. the people who dont are the lawbreakers. peopel get mad at them for writing them a ticket for speeding and stuff like that but hey they are there to serve you and protect you. they couldnt have saved your life when you were speeding. i wish there were more cops around because i feel safe aroudn them. a cop is your friend not your enemy. look at countries without police authority like the middle east. now think about that the next time you see a cop and wave to them and smile
