2 years back my company introduced a Hosiery product to the consumers. We have added some special properties, which even reputed brands have not introduced to the market. My company brand is new to Hosiery market. Customer feedback is good. As on date this product is available in 30 outlets. Due to some reason/s unknown to us most of the Retailers and Distributors are hesitating to stock and sell the product. Though all of them appreciate the properties of the product. I'm running short of ideas. Any suggestions?

Here's what you do:
Focus on specific target areas. When you isolate an area, get a group of 5 - 10 friends and ring each store and ask them for your product and if they have any in stock.
THe more buzz you create, the more likely they will order stock from you. This strategy allows you to grow fast and get quick market penetration and awareness.
Give sellers incentive to sell more with rewards.

I don't want to be harsh but; if your statement is true "Due to some reason/s unknown to us most of the Retailers and Distributors are hesitating to stock and sell the product" and it is not the fault of how your company is representing itself and the product to the prospective customer then your company must utilize some resources to find out why! Many years ago I was asked to promote a "nylon stocking" that wouldn't run. My budget was tiny.....my solution was to give the product to nurses and policemen(for their wives) across the country. In each package was a note that told the recipient that if they could not find this product in their local stores they could order them by phone - and a number and price list was enclosed. It took two years and a thousand dozen give away pairs to accomplish what was a great turn around in sales. The rise in sales was so rapid that it created a stir in the industry which prompted the industry leader at the time to make an offer to purchase the brand and after another six months of negotiation the sale was made and the owners did very well.......they could have not sold and continued to compete against these companies but a boat load of money all at once was too tempting. In today's market I would suggest that the giveaway system could still be employed however additional sales would be made through the Internet rather than the phone system we employed in the early sixties.

It is obvious from your information that there is no increase in customer base. You are sticking to the same customers and some of these customers are not compulsive and ready to switch to other brands when your product is not available. To avoid this problem, you need to increase the awareness in that particular region. You can either consider advertising or word-of-mouth communication to increase the awareness. Since I am not aware of the market conditions, it is not possible for me to answer further.
