go with the Jamesons Irish Whiskey. Awesome!!!
something with a bit more bite ~ Jack Daniels.
Glenfiddich for a rich smooth single malt whiskey.
Busch Mills Irish Whiskey if you want to get wasted quick and hard.
Wild Turkey if you want to die!!!
Jim Beam if you want to chill out.
Dewars 12 year old if you want to show off ~ X-cellent by the way!!!
Glenlivet if you have deep pockets for your friends. Nice.
Pinch, Chivas Regal, etc...
the ones listed are my personal best.
good luck!!!

it seriously depends on what you like... many people favour Jack Daniels and Chivas though i would rather stay dry for the night than touch those drinks... since u weren't being too specific, here are a couple of brands you could try out that i as an alcohol embracer prefer...

Johnnie Walker (whisky):
anything that black label and above (black, green, gold, blue labels), black label is pretty enjoyable wit water or coke, but all the other labels are beautiful on the rocks.

Famous Grouse (single malt whiskey):
personally i think this is a truly beautiful drink, either with coke or water or on the rocks and i don't know whether it's me, but i have never gotten a hangover on this drink... try it..

Hennessey (brandy) :
try drinking Hennessey with green tea as a mixture.. it's a change you'll totally enjoy

Wild Turkey (bourbon) :
i totally agree. Wild Turkey is beautiful and u can even drink it on the rocks.. tho u can also mix it with either coke or water

Old Monk (rum) :
i don't know whether you can get this where you are, but if you can, this is the choice for rum... it is the smoothest rum i've tasted so far... it's actually indian rum.. recently on a trip to india, my boyfriends father brought back 6 bottles cuz we don't get it here...

Vodkas :
here are a couple of mixtures for vodka's that have proven to be quite enjoyable
- Vodka Abolute + sprite / red bull
- Absoltue Vanilla + ice cream soda
- Vodka Pepper + green tea
- Absolute Mandarin + sprite and orange juice
the rest are pretty obvious

well, hope something here works for you... Cheers!

Depends on what kind of whisky, and your personal tastes.
Many people swear by chivas and ballantines, but you won't make me touch those with a 20 foot straw, similarly, many people dislike the peaty flavor of the Islay malts I favor.

Tell us more about what you like, we may advise more efficiently.
If you don't know a thing about whisky, try some basics :

Scotch blended : white horse and black & white
pure malt : glenfiddich, caol ila, laphroaig
Bourbon : wild turkey, maker's mark , old rip van winkle
Jack daniels
Irish : Bushmills

Bourbon - Maker's Mark or Knob Creek
Scotch - Glenlivet. Single Malt is the only way to go.
Canadian - Crown Royal
Irish - Jameson
Cheap - Cutty Sark. Only blended scotch I'll buy. Cause I'm broke.

Almost as good if not as good as Jack is Evan Williams or Early TImes(all sour mash, if I'm not mistaken) . They run cheaper than Jack but taste better than the Canadian Blended whiskeys, in my opinion.

I prefer Crown Royal. I like to mix it with diet coke or diet pepsi, but it has a good taste of its own as well.

Jim Beam is my favorite, though I am a beer drinker by nature.

I like the taste of bourbon (Jim Beam), but blended (Seagram's) is smoother.
