Three years old.

A lot of people around here start at 2, but I think that's too young.

Four is definitely too old. Nowadays, kindergarten is like what it was for us in first grade. It's a lot more demanding and a lot more academic.

The kids need more preparation and socialization. I'd do 2 days a week at age 3, then at least 3 days a week at age 4.

Where I am it depends on what age they're accepting kids in kindergarten, I went too early and had to stay at preschool for 2 years (although i probably didn't mind) it's really up to the child I guess they know when they're ready to do things, ring up the preschool you intend on he/she going to and ask them what the common age is for them starting then you decide
