Unfortunately you would both be breaking the law and subject toa fine of £1,000. It's been illegal since October 2002.

The law requires both the seller and the buyer of a vehicle to sign a joint declaration on the Registration Document (V5)/Certificate (V5C). The legal responsibility to notify DVLA of the changes rest with the seller of the vehicle (the registered keeper at time of sale). When you purchase a vehicle the seller should tear off the green slip (V5/2 or V5C/2) of the Registration Document/Certificate and hand it to the buyer. The V5/2 or V5C/2 may be used as evidence of keepership when purchasing a vehicle licence up to two months from the date of sale.

If you have previously had a registration document or certificate for your vehicle in your name, and there is no change in vehicle or personal details, you may apply for a duplicate registration certificate over the telephone. You should contact DVLA customer enquiries (vehicles) on 0870 240 0010. A fee of £19 is payable. You will need a debit or credit card for the payment. You will receive the registration certificate within 10 working days.

I don't know if you are having your post forwarded but you may have to buy a replacement V5 over the 'phone, have forwarded to your new address, complete the transfer documents and return them to the DVLA, send the V5/C2 to the buyer and it will then all be legal.

No is the short answer, because if sell your vehicle you have to declare change of ownership. you have to send back the v5 to dvla swansea. If the driver is stopped by the police or caught speeding by a camera it will be traced back to you, and you will be liable for any penalty charges.

You can get a replacement from the dvla in swansea go to ur local postoffice and ask for a v5 form.
v5 logbook replacement form. The new V5 will cost you £19.00.

If you sell a vehicle WITHOUT the V5/Log Book it will PERMANENTLY belong to you, and will be liable for the Car Tax and any speeding fines for that vehicle.

You can but they are the ones who have to pay out £19 for a replacement by filling in a V62

Yes you can, but the buyer will have to fill in a V62 from the post office to apply for a registration document in their name. This will cost them £19.00
