i went on the pill when i was 15 and my mum came wiith me, but i dont think she HAS to be there considering you are 16. you will need your medicare card though. The pill varies in cost, as to which one you get, how many months worth of supply you get- you can get it monthly or 4 montlhy packs. It also depends on if you have a concession card. The pill should be taken at the same time EVERY day without fail with water. The doctor is under oath to keep your matters discreet, although will probably give you a talking to about safe sex etc.
Family planning clinics apparently give you free information, condomsa and pill scripts, so you would have to look them up and make an appointment i think.... I hope this helps!!!

Apparently, it depends on where you live. Some places require a prescription, like here in the US and others i guess don't. You can make an appointment at a planned parenthood. They will give you an exam and write you a prescription and sometimes even give you the pills right then and there. Prior to the exam and prescription they will ask you to fill out a form about you income. If you're a student and have no job, it will usually be free. They have a strict policy about privacy so you dont ahve to worry about your parents finding out through them..
If you have a current doctor already, then you can tell them you have irregular periods, heavy periods, or painful cramps and they may prescribe you the pill. tell them that you've heard the pill helps those conditions and you were interested in trying it.
I don't think they are not suppose to tell your parents. you may want to check with your local laws on that. The cost of them depend on your insuance.

why do you want to be on the pill in the first place??for your skin??? since this is postd in the general skin and body??
you sould have your mom go and take you to the docotrs. but thell them the truth of why you want to be on it.. jut cause your on the pill doesnt mean you are sexually active (thats what i told my mom, and i hope you arent,,,)
i was put on it when i was 17 since my periods were do horrible. but you should always tell them the truth when you are recieving a powerful thing liek the pill.
if you have insurance. it should be mostly covered. other than that they can be around 30 or 40 dollars. you can always try a clinic or planned parenthood and see what thye can do for you

if you are 16 or over then you can visit your GP on your own without your mum for sure. i think the pill is free for over 16's but i'm not sure. it's best to just be honest with your doctor he/she has prescribed the pills to a lot of people, it's their everyday work, you aren't going to be an exception! lol.
so defo go see your doctor about this!
and i know you didn't ask about this but why don't you try talking to your mum about this issue she could be a lot of help.
anyway good luck
xx
p.s. i just based my answer on you living in the UK.
if you are in another country it may not be the same

You should say to your Mum that you would like birthcontrol and could she please take you to the Doc. If you are afraid to ask your Mum for that, you are TOOO YOUNG to be having sex. You can also try a local clinic, and you should ask the doc for birth control. They will explain how to use it and the chemist can give you the cost.

Hi Sweethart...
Listen I dont know which area you are in but i stay in South Africa.
There is a pill called YASMEEN capsules and it is not very expensive. My Girlfriend uses it and it is very effective in controlling your perriods and everything else. Also you just hav to go to a pharmacy and ask them for it over the counter. It's that easy doll.

You'll probably need a consent by your mother. You are not legally aged to get prescribed drugs.
