Why change banks if a levy has been placed on your current bank account?

There was a bank levy placed on my account; the bank cancelled my overdraft protection. If I go over my balance the item is returned/insufficient funds. Therefore I only keep little money in the acount to cash checks and pay bills. I f I were to open another account, would'nt the creditor find it?

some banks will do like that ...........

only the IRS can seize funds from your bank accounts..just open another account and try to pay the other bank back ASAP.
