I thik the reasons are as followes

(1) Islam gets one closer to the true monotheism. Many christian converts report their loss of hope in "Trinity".

Even Priests and Preachers, both Protestants and Catholics, come to Islam due to this.

(2) Islam is "A Way Of Life", Everything in Islam is clear and well defined. And there is no aspect in Islam like in other religion "asking one to have faith" in believing some concepts. Everything in Islam is logical and comprehendable to humans.

(3) The greatest strength of Islam has been and always will be "The Qurán". There is only a single version of Qura'n while the old and new testaments have several versions.

Added to these are facts like Muslims are known for their cleanliness, as they clean themselves up five times a day, before their prayers. These along with proper sanitation method helped Muslims during the period of "The Black Death", i.e. the spreading of Plague in Europe.

It must be noted that during this period half of Spain was Muslim, but still Muslims largely avoided the disease.

Again, nowadays during the spread of AIDS, Muslims due to their strict religious teachings save themselves, by avoiding sex outside marriage.

As you can see there are many factors....

I see a change in the answers posted here on YA. No body so far has said that it was/is sword which is responsible for speeding up the rate of conversion to Islam.


Anyway there are two ways for the world to embrace Islam.

1. By birth...
2. By conversion, by choice, by selection and by force [ as few claim]

Now had it been for the higher rate of birth amongst the Muslims, there would have been few thousands of Muslims in the world since emergance of Islam. [ How much can you multiply from few to billions within 1400+ years ? You can calculate it yourself ]

Sooo..........it was and is the higher rate of conversion which makes Islam the fastest growing religion.

Now why Islam is being embraced at such a higher rate ???
