A pretty good introductory book is:

How To Read The Apocalypse
by Jean-Pierre Prevost

It's part of a popular series on how to read religion texts. Although it was obviously written by a "believer", it's pretty sane, and has a lot of revelent information in it...a good place to start.

any book that explains the meaning of dreams or grimms fairy tales. the 'book' of revelations was nothing more than a strange dream(probably induced by too much wine or by ergot) some fool wrote down and embelished upon.
