Just like many animals, if done right, the "mating ritual" is the Hottest! It's excitement breathes new life into a person. It's erotic, sensual, sexual...... during this time, you aren't EVEN thinking about chocolate ; D

the chase is more of a turn on then a turn off but it really just has to happen so the girl (or whoever is being chased) knows how much they're wanted. like if the guy gives up too easily..what's the point?

Someone just asked a similar question, but reversed (about playing hard to get).
The answer is that almost all men do not like women who play hard to get. It might be exciting for women, but it's expensive, time consuming, and nerve wrecking for men. If we KNEW from the start that the women we were after were worth the trouble, it MIGHT be OK for a while (not too long though). But lots of women will let men chase after them when they haven't the slightest bit of interest in them. I refuse to do that. My advice to you is to avoid playing games. Good night!

I think it is more of the exitement of something new that turns people on; the excitement of learning that someone else is interested, in learning about them, in doing things with them for the first time.
I think it is the newness of the relationship, not necessarily the actual chasing.

You might have seen cartoons of cavemen who drag their women by their hair, after a conquest. Male ego and stronger bodies surely facilitate a man to chase a woman. I suppose this caveman habit has been passed on in the genes of men even to this day!

It is a big turn on to a certain extent, however ceases to be if it becomes clear that she is only teasing but has no intention of taking the bait.

"pesistantly trying to actually win her affections"
turn off... its almost arrogant...
kind of sets herself up to be a trophy, kind of sad.
nothing wrong with teasing... but winning something doesnt setlle easy with me....

It's a turn on. Just like dogs, chasing a car is fun. But once they've caught it, they just turn around out of bordom!

As a man, I can tell you I do not like it a bit, and if a woman tries too hard, I will think she is not interested and go find someone who is.
