i'm a college student in my early twenties and i found that i'm not really into the social scene anymore. Parties and all that are nothing but drama and i've been putting myself away from it. I want to focus on bigger and better things and i feel like all the stuff is getting old and is a waste of time. My friends on the other hand, think it's "weird" because people haven't "heard" from me. I'll hang out with a few close friends but that's it - nothing too much...is this normal? Am i going through a phase? why am i acting like this?

wooo~~~~~ I am going through the very same thing except that I am not 20 yet, 19 right now. But what I think is that partying is fun at the time but when you look back on it, you don't really gain anything from it. A lot of times, you would meet, chat with some people for sometime but then next day, all you get is a hangover and sometimes missing shoe haha. I guess I am kind of taking a break from partying right now..... I don't think it is weird to be getting tired of pointless parties. I would rather choose nights which I can just sit down with few close friends, chill, and enjoy the night.
But then I know I will party starting next semester ha

You're growing up and moving on with your life. You realized the middle-school mindset of the party scene only wastes the time you could be using to improve yourself. Some people never learn this.

I was a lot like you. The people who haven't "heard" of you are people who forget the people they have heard of in a few weeks anyway.

You need to focus your efforts on what you consider valuable, otherwise you are wasting your time.

You are normal. You have a set of goal determined in yourself. That's good. You dont need to party if you dont like it. There are some other ways to socialize yourself other than partying.

Because the 3 kids you have at home doesn't give you the chance to party as much.
