Moderate Muslims?

Question

What are you doing and what can be done by you to sway extremist muslims away from the atrocities that they commit in their own countries as well as in the west?

You often say that it's unfair to put all Muslims into a group. That's a fair enough statement. But don't you have some responsibility to your religion and to your God and to your Muslim brothers to try to put a stop to some of this madness?

Wafa Sultan says that when Kurds and Shiites were being persecuted in Iraq that no Muslims stood up to condemn it.

What are your thoughts?

I strongly criticise the KKK and Cleric Pedophiles and there are plenty of people who go against them and try to change them.

Why can't you just answer a question instead of throwing it back at me.

Yet you will cry foul if I ask you what you have done to sway the opinion of extreme Christians such as the ones who bomb abortion clinics, assault doctors and clinic workers, the KKK, Cleric pedophiles and the list goes on.

You are trying to hold a religion accountable for the few extremist, should we do the same for your faith?

I answered your question..........YOU are judging an entire group of people because of the extremists, I am using the extremists of your faith to demonstrate to you that people are people. What about Maliki who is working toward a peaceful and unified Iraq? What about Abbas who wants peace with Israel? Do you think they are the only two? You make it sound as though no Muslim wants peace and you are very mistaken.

ru randy.........you're kidding right? The Catholic church (the original Christians) move molesters from location to location to cover up their crimes, Israel is in VIOLATION of INTERNATIONAL LAW by militarily occupying Palestine and you think you do a good job of policing yourself?

I believe what you have in store for us, we are already doing and that you have nothing new to offer.

[] [] quoting Quran to show the world that Islam is against terrorism.
[] [] fighting hard to have a little space in your media.
[] [] declaring the terrorist's acts as 'UN-ISLAMIC'.
[] [] telling the world hundred times that this so called 'Jehad' is un-Islamic since it kills innocent people which are in no way related to the atrocities which are inflicted upon the Muslims the world over.

I think that you have made a policy to attack the Muslims and always keep them on defence as you have rightly said........

Hey.. I agree with the girl above.. I'm Muslim too and if I thought someone was planning on terrorising in any way I would go to the police. It's wrong to terrorise etc..

You evaded the question completely. This is a very good question, one which is very deserving of a fair response, and one that the whole world would like to hear you answer.

To answer your final cop out, thewolfsk, Christians and Jews and and Americans and Europeans, Orientals and sub-continentals and every other civilized group of the world does a pretty good job of keeping their own house clean - we do not let our criminals go free to dirty the name of our societies. Islam cannot say the same words honestly and in good faith.

So... repeating the question originally posed, (and stay focused on it this time...):

For example: This is an article from one of your hyperlinks. It complains of bias reporting and suggests an unfair world opinion of Islamic terrorism.

there are many Muslims, myself included, who speak out on terrorism almost daily. but, honestly, who do you think gets press? it is as with anything else the thousands of planes that land safely everyday are not news.... it's the one that crashes that we all talk about.

ps 'moderate Muslims' is kind of a misnomer. the ones you call moderate Muslims are the only true Muslims. any who murder who spread hate are only using our name. Islam means submission implying submission to God's will. one who murders or spreads hate is not submitting to God's will and therefore is not a true Muslim
