Vitamin A is a fat soluble vitamin. All fat soluble vitamins[vitamin A,D,E,K] can build up in the body and cause side effects. The water soluble vitamins can be excreted in the urine and hence, safer, even when taken in large doses.Vitamin A when taken in excess daily can cause liver and bone damage, hair loss, vomitting, double vision, headaches and other abnormalities. As for your heart condition,it should be safe as long as you dont exceed the daily limit.

I believe the max amount of Vitamin A you should have in a day shouldn't exceed 10,000IU. Any large amount of supplementation isn't good as it's above the amount found naturally in your body or in foods that produce it naturally. Vitamin A is good for your skin as well as zinc. Try to find a product that has a lower amount of Vitamin A since you will be taking it daily anyway.
