It doesn't take a lot of thought about your own mortality to realize that exactly what makes life so beautiful is that it is finite. Once this understanding is truly reached...then it's up to the individual to decide what to do.

Absolutely not! Focusing on death, mortality, after-death, and heaven/hell, is a (the?) major cause of irrational and evil behavior today.
9/11 was the direct result of such thinking.
I lost a good friend to suicide because of his belief in heaven. He refused to believe that he could become happy in this life. Or he thought it would be too much work, too painful to attain. It was easier for him to simply pull the trigger and immediately stop the pain, and then achieve instant happiness in the next life.
What are more important issues than happiness? Why would you want people to think more about their mortality? It's something to accept as a fact, but obsessing over it would be a depressing waste.

I think when people experience certain criteria they will search out these areas. Many people are not ready until much later in life. Blame this on the society.

i dont think so .there almost isn't a point to constantly thinking about your mortality because we don't control when and or how we die .unless in the case of suicide ,of which in that case the people barely have any happiness to talk about .if u r not suicidal BE HAPPY .....and continue to pursue happiness .

A better thing to do would be to not focus on your own happiness during your brief stay on this planet, but you can do to assure the happiness of others. It seems to me that that's what most religions preach you should do anyway. *l*

life is very very short. We should do our best while we are here. What comes after this life will last forever.

No,I think it would be better if they thought about how their actions would effect the lives of others, You might consider that as well, instead of focussing on how to please a God who demands to be worshipped not loved.
