Insomnia (sleeplessness) is due to stress, dietary and medical
problems. By making small lifestyle changes like having a fixed
daily routine, relaxing and eating properly, insomnia can be
cured. I found the information at http://tinyurl.com/jfzpz useful
for getting sleep.

Okay, first off...you have NOT given the nyquil time to take effect - it takes at least 30 minutes to an hour for a medication that's taken orally to work. Try another glass of warm milk, a high-protein snack (like a peanut butter sandwich), then taking a warm shower. Once you've done that, lay down with a textbook in your bed, get nice and comfy, and wait to see if your Nyquil will kick in. If it STILL hasn't by 2 a.m., then come back and ask again. :)

yeah, a future insomniac. Try reading. I usually read in bed and that usually makes me just tired enough to go to sleep. Sometimes it doesn't work but hey.

Sometimes your body is just not tired enough. You can use your mind to get it to rest but it requires concentration. If you have the window cracked, try listening to all the sounds you can hear. Not as a distraction or trying to figure out what it is, just listen to the tone and timbre, the hue, the feel of the sound. This helps to relax the mind. The body is also relaxed since you have to stay quiet to hear all the noises.

I am a periodic insomniac and most of the time these tricks help.
