How do I get rid of XP from my computer ?

you have to re-format your pc and load Linux. If you have any question, ask again!

What you could do is partition the drive and install Linux onto the D: drive and have a dual boot, you'd just select which OS you were going to use.
That way if you didn't like it, you could revert back to XP.

It's the safe option.

The other way is to format c: and install Linux onto the c: drive.

Well...insert the Linux disk...Boot to it....during install...format the Windows Drive (usually C:)

If it's that freespire linux, don't do it. It says it's just like xp, but it's very low quality. You're WAAAY better off with microsoft, as much as I hate to admit it.

you will have to format the partition on which the XP is now installed...then install the linux - dont forgett to save your important data from that partition...inclding the desktop if you have here something

well buy an original linux cd and make sure it is bootnle and before that make sure your computer supports cd boot
