I am not sure of how the american telephone networks opperate, but there should be a telephone directory of some description, may i suggest you either check that out or you can go to www.192.com for the uk electoral rold and telephone enquiry also you could try friends reunited.co.uk or .com for america.
Also if you are using AOL try doing a member search, which is avaliable by clicking on the community button and search for a member at the top of the welcome page.
