The earliest I have ever seen that used in a gag was in a silent movie on TCM. I believe it was a buster Keaton one. I can't remember the title. It's been too many years since I saw it and too many brains cells have died since then. Buster Keaton was famous for that type of prat fall humor. Here's a wiki link to some information to him. it will sound stupid but i tried this in my garage and the banana works. the inside of this oddly shaped fruit has a very slimy, greasy, nasty inner coating that makes it slippery when there isn't much friction under it
