they never move when you approach them...

do you have an unspayed female cat indoors? have you fed one or two of them? this could be the problem. They smell your female who is in heat and are hoping to get a chance at her. Or they know you have fed them before and might again. If they are strays and you are sure of this then gather them up and take them to your nearest animal shelter

Maybe you have mystique powers which only cats can feel and you are luring them closer to you without even knowing you are doing it.
No I'm just joking, I'm not sure why that happens but it use to happen to my mothers house a few years back and its very annoying because they use to poo on our door step every night.

You could put soapy HOT water all along the floor around the area that the cats go or sprinkle some black pepper on the floor around your door and this will make the cats stop coming there, i think this worked for my mum i cant really remember as she did try many things to make the cats go away but that was two of the things which i can remember her doing.
Hope it works for you.x

If they don't scatter when you approach, it probably means that they are use to human contact and they are someone's pets.

As to why they gather by YOUR and no one else's is another cat mystery. Maybe someone feed them there once. Maybe they like they way you porch feels agaist their feet. Maybe you don't seem threatening to them (have you pet them alot?). Maybe you yard and porch are ideal hunting grounds for beetles and lizards. Maybe there's a smell on your porch or garden that attraches them. It could be any of those reasons.

Oh! I am so jealous of you, you have no idea!

You are so lucky to have cats gather on your front porch like that!

I wish I did!

But all I get are unsavoury stray dogs and I don`t even like dogs!

They scare me.

I can`t even take the trash out anymore or go to my mail box in fear of being pursued, bitten... or worse!!!

Enjoy it while it lasts!

I just hope that you adore cats like I do!

errr weird! Do you have any of that cat nip stuff in your door?!

Or do you have a lady cat and all the man cats want her?!!

they're prob just attracted to a smell of a plant or something near your door! or something inside your house!

I always get loads of cats in my garden, as im next to a field they tend to bring loads of lovely dead mice with them!!!

Maybe because you might have fed them one time and they've came back for more. Try to keep some food outside in the garden or just keep feeding them.

It's probably mating season and there's a female in heat nearby. Perhaps if you sprinkle some pepper when there's none around they'll avoid coming because they won't like the smell, but I don't know if their sexual urges will overpower their desire not to sneeze.

they want you to love them and feed them. But its also completly possible they used to live there. sometimes mean people leave their pets behind, but the cats are still trying come inside what they think is their house. i think you should adopt the cats. cats that find you are the best kinds of kitties there are

Do you have an unaltered female cat in the house? If so, she's in heat and don't let her out. If its too late, expect kittens in 2 months
