we have been dating for 6 months now. I don't know is he joking or what.... last month for my b-day he said he will buy me a ring... (engagement). Now in X'mas time he is telling me again. I told him we are not ready to take the next step. Do you think he is being serous???
I love him, but 6 months is not enought to know a person. I need more time

The way he said, the ring is gonna be a very special ring. After I told him I don't wanna get marry anytime soon. He said it's ok the engagement can be few years long.

he;s probably being serious. if he isn't, then it shows he's not being serious in relationships...
tell him that you need more time to know him, and you two shouldn't rush into it in case you two regret in future.

honestly he probably is being serious.. he may have a different outlook on how long it takes to get to know someone on that level.. maybe you should try talking to him again... my fiance got me a ring for valentines day and we had been together for 8 months at the time.. we have now been together for a year and a half.. and he is buying me a prettier more expensive ring for x-mas. and wen he told me and asked me to marry him i thought he was joking to.. but i was almost ready for it.. and wen he asked I WAS!

Hes gutsy if he will go through w/it since you have told him your not ready yet plus its such a big investment to make on maybe's. Why is he so anxious. Plus I have always felt that a proposal should be never be a gift like for Christmas. It should have its own special day.

did he say he was buying u an 'engagement ring' or just a ring? not all rings are engagement rings. my ex gave me a ring last xmas but it wasnt an engagement one.
