I know a few people that are like this and they finally went to see a doctor. They found out that they had a chemical imbalance and were given a prescription to help them.
One girl I know, had to try a couple different types of prescriptions before it actually kicked in and worked for her, but thay all say it is working for them now. Maybe you should try that?
It is worth a try anyway. Life can be so awesome and full of happy things...and you only really get one chance at it, so try all you can to make it better for yourself, and don't be afraid to tell other people and ask them to help too.
I guess if you don't want to do prescriptions, you could try to annalyze your thoughts and dreams and try to figure out if there is actually something wrong in your life that is making you depressed, and then try to fix it.
I am not exactly super religious, but I have found that praying can help too. Even if you don't beleive in God, I think it just helps anyway, because it helps you to focus and say outloud the things that you really want in your life and what you want to change.
I hope you can figure it out. It makes me sad to hear when somebody is depressed. There are so many good and happy things in this world and being alive to see it all is a gift to us. Try to focus on all the good and miraculous thingsthat happen in life and mentally let go of the sad things. Good luck!

Though it may seem you're feeling depressed for no reason, there may be a chemical imbalance going on in your brain. While some people experience situational depression (loss of a loved one, parents divorce, etc), this is not always the case.
Your best bet is to talk to your general practitioner about a depression screening and possible referral to a psychiatrist. Also look for a good individual therapist--studies show that depressed people who use both pharmacotherapy (meds) and some form of psychotherapy stand a much better chance at long-term recovery!

I am deeply concerned about this. I am thinking of becoming a psychologist when i get older, so let me try my hand at this. First of all, it is normal to get depressed out of the blue for no reason at all sometimes. But when you start crying out of the blue, then that's a completely different story. You may need a little bit of help. I would recommend seeing a psychologist first, then a psychiatrist, because you don't always need pills and it can be quite disastrous to take pills when you don't need them. And get at least two professional opinions, as well as healthier habits like jogging if your overweight because that can be a huge factor. let me know if this helps please.

Depression doesn"t just happen for no reason, there is always an underlying cause whether it is genetic, biological, or emotional.
Sometimes it is a combination of factors. One thing I do know is that depression will not cure itself, you have to aggressively confront it. A good place to start is with a doctor's consultation to to get an overall physical evaluation. Counselling would also be an option. One thing that does help (not cure) depression is physical exercise, something as simple as walking for 45 min a day.

Depression is caused by a chemical imbalance in your brain. I suggest getting evaluated by a doctor and seeing if you can be treated. I've had moderate clinical depression ever since i was 12 years old, and if it's not treated it's hard to deal with. Good luck and happy holidays.

I'm sure you have depression problem. If you don't want to have medical help, you need to talk more to someone you love and trust. Start a new life plan and focus on doing it. You need some more physical exercise to help for making your mind and body stronger. I am sorry to tell you, you must need to push yourself to get better, no body can help you except yourself. I did it to myself earlier, now I feel great.

Hey, stop there,
Take a deep breath, sit down, and start writing everything that you feel and what is on your mind.
You have to love yourself for being a wonderful human being.
Talk to someone close to you. And try to see always the positive side of things. Remember always, we only live once.

You probably have a biological depression. I get them too. They come on for no apparent reason. Things can be going fine and then BAM. Go see your doctor, you may need medication.
