No it's not just you.
When the condemned person was killing their victim, I don't think they had mercy on their mind. There's some angry part inside of me that wants to see the condemned person suffer.
However, I figure the death penalty is just sending them off to their final judge. So as neat and clean a dispatch as possible, is OK with me, they will have much more to deal with in Eternity.
In light of Florida suspending all executions, they were interviewing death penalty experts on TV today, and one man (I wasn't paying close attention to his name) said that if we wanted the quickest and most painless death, we should use the guillotine.
I think THAT would be a crime deterrent!

Yes, I have always thought lethal injection was too merciful of a way to die for killers, rapists, etc. Especially the way it is done today. Why do you need to sanitize the area where the needle is going in? Are we afraid the person who is gonna die in ten sconds is going to become infected by a dirty puncture? And why do they need a clean needle anyway? Could save a lot of money just using one needle. But I think they should skip the whole lethal injection process and come up with more inventive ways to execute someone. Maybe some of them should be killed the way they killed someone. Or just take them out back and put them in front of a firing squad. Or hang them. There are much better ways to execute than by lethal injection.

YES! Where was mercy in their killing, did they say, " hey,I'm going to kill you now and I want to make this as painless as possible..." I think not. And how can anyone say it cost more to keep the criminal in prison for life than it does to use the death penalty? A bullet only cost under a dollar, as to who would pull the trigger? Someone have a talk with Mr. Fred Goldman, or anyone else who has had a loved one murdered.

I think there are to many sitting on death row using our tax dollars. It cost us more the longer they sit there. I do not think someone should be on death row for yrs. If they got the death sentence what takes so long. As for lethal injection it is less pain than the electric chair. Some of these people should really feel the pain for the crimes they have commited.

Hello Starry Eyes,

I am with you 100%!

What ever happened to an Eye for an Eye?

Oh, right................... the ACLU and all the liberal lawers changed the rules on us and we, we silly slugs went along with it.

Now look at the mess we got ourselves into.

Murder is the "norm" now and the oh so loving liberals...and conservatives are doing their best to keep these murders alive by extending their appeals.

When will all this insanity end you may ask?

When Jesus comes back to take us home.

Okay, I like conspiracies and to me, I smell a conspiracy.

Since our government is not for LIFE, they have to find ways to OFF as many Americans as possible. By letting murders, rapists and child molesters continue to share our oxygen and possibly be set free, they are meeting and exceeding their agenda.

Hope this helps you....................... : - O

I don't really care if they hurt or not. Whats important to me is the amount of money taxpayers are spending on them, and that the people who would be put to death are NEVER in contact with society again. It's the idea that they live on my dollar (as a taxpayer) for the rest of their life that bugs me.

........ riiight, like THAT'S going to accomplish anything. Perpetuate the hurt and pain. It's nice to know that there are still people who have the Nazi mentality. *rolls eyes* I question if the death penalty should even be legal, but it currently is, and that's that. Do you not realize that killing criminals is not to make you HAPPY or SATISFIED...? It's to keep us ALL safe by *guaranteeing* us that this person won't be around to cause any more damage. If you're a sadist, cool, but leave that in the sex category.

that's a good question, but i believe wanting someone to suffer is based on revenge, and revenge gets people no where. Maybe the lethal injection is fair.

I'm all for the death penalty. If you don't want to be killed for the crimes you committed, then don't do them. It's that simple. Yes some people are going to be innocently killed, but people will begin to see the light and slow don on crimes.

If it's done properly I feel its the only way. Anything less makes us no better than them. Then again, why should people really care?
