3 years ago, I was diagnosed - hypertension with a reading of 160/100. Yes, exercise will decrease weight and therefore allow blood to flow easier and the heart will not have to work as hard. At least 30 minutes of physical activity a day should do it.

It does. More effective is the life style change and eating habits. Eat more of unseasoned fresh fruits and vegetables in preference to cooked food. It will curtail ur sodium intake.
