What is cleaning a litter box really that hard for you? Please...get a litter box, it isn't that hard to do...hell I'm a grown adult and I can do it just fine 2x a day for my kitty. Show them how much you love em...you don't like to pee and poop half an inch from the frozen ground do you?

Could be a lot of things. Need a bit more info to really be accurate.

1. Might be cause of territorial issues. If your cat is unfixed (but even if she is it might still be a problem) she may be doing it to show the new comer, This is mine.

2. If the younger one is doing it too then she may become rebellious with an "If he can do it why can't I?" attitude.

3. It's too damn cold outside... Imagine you had to poo in a freezer or in a sauna where would you expose your butt?

4. If you've changed your cleaning products recently she may not like the smell so she is covering up the smell with one she can tolerate. Things that smell good to us burn the sinuses and eyes of our pets.

Solutions.

1. Get a litter box. if you don't like cleaning litter you can go get a Litter maid, they're expensive but well worth it. You may have to get 2 if it's territorial issues.

2. Go back to your old cleaning supplies.

cats are territorial which explains the peeing in the house and the older one hating the new one.get a kitty wonder box(which is actually a brand) its a disposable litter box for the winters.as time goes by they will also learn to get along.

I think you should just go with the litter box. Then is the older cat wants to still go outside he can, or if he is inside he doens't have to go everywhere.
