It's my number. Or 616, whichever.

It comes from the book known as "Revelation", the last book of the Christian Bible. In it, the author refers to the "name" of "the Beast". Because it was apparently written at a time of persecution, the author did not actually name this person, referring to the numeric value of the characters in the name. (In those days, there were no separate characters for numbers. Letters were assigned values, usually 1-9 for the first nine, then 10-20-30, etc. for the next, and so on.)
The author reveals that the number of the name is "666" (or "616" in some versions). Some scholars determined that this could have applied to the emperor Nero, reincarnated as Diocletian, because it matched some other rumors of the time.
But name numbering is tricky. Is it the first name, the family name, both? The nickname? It really leaves the possibilities wide open. For that reason, it's rather unhelpful for pinpointing an exact person. (An anagram might have been better.) Suffice to say, the NUMBER "666" is not what this is about.

It is the number of the beast,Satan. All the kooks that say bar codes are based on it are fools,if you were marked in the end times it would have to be a visible mark and you would have to not be able to perform any business including purchasing even life essentials without it in order for it to qualify as the mark. So those who say you will be marked with a chip are also probably fools. Of course I was born with 666 on the back of my head,is that a bad sign you think? Sorry couldn't resist just can't stand all the goofyness surrounding a number. Friday the thirteenth has more validity than the number of the beast,at least the superstition surrounding the 13th is because of something that actually happened.

No one knows for sure. Here's something ironic. In China, 6 is considered a lucky number. If you call someone 666, that means he'll be lucky in youth, middle age, and old age. Spooky huh?
Told my Chinese friends about the west and 666, they were freaked out.

this number is associated with satan and the end times. Christians often won't even write that number. If it is in our phone number or address we have it changed. In Revelations it is the number of the Beast, the evil one. Read it, it's better than Stephen King. It has been said that bar codes on all purchased items mathematically are based on "that number", all of them. In the future those who are left on the earth will have to buy and sell using a mark on their head or hand. This is probably like a credit card or debit card implanted in the body. Whatever happens do not accept the mark, you will be doomed to hell. Those who resist the mark will suffer but can have a chance to go to heaven if they believe.

People who worship the beast or get the tatoo of the beast 666 on their hand of forehead on their head go to hell.
6 is the number of man. So, maybe it represents love for the things of man.

It's the "Mark of the beast" according to the book of Revelations in the Bible. But the Bible doesn't make clear how we'll recognise the significance of that number, or whatever it may symbolize.

It's the Mark of the Beast, and the only way to get rid of it is to kneel at the altar of a Baptist preacher and do a special incantation, Then you are declared SAVED and the Mark of the Beast is removed from you butt. It's like a birthmark, check your local Baptist church for details.
