Yes it can, but you will need to be on a budget. What I mean is that you can live good but dont spend money on every thing that you want. Put some in savings in case you dont make that much money later on, then you will have your savings to fall back on. Always be prepared for a rainy day, you never know when something might happen and you would need a lot of money in a hurry.

Unfortunately $90 thousand dollars a year is not what it used to be.

After taxes that's @ $1300 per week take home pay.

Factor in the cost of a nice place to live @ $2500 or more a month...

Couple of decent vehicles to drive.. and other costly expenditures?

A family of 5 might feel as though they are on welfare with too much month at the end of the money.. harsh but true!

I support 7 on less than $100,000.00 gross, we live VERY well yet very disciplined lives, we have 6 vehicles . . . 2 boys 18 & 20 go to TU and drive 1986 and 1991 chevy Silverado pickups (bad trucks, w/mean soundin' duals too, I might ad) just bought the wife a new Ford Escape (paid cash for it) We do not "blow" money never, never, ever. Be smart, be self-disciplined, you will be a happy person...just like a dog. . . a disciplined and well-behaved pouch is a happy pouch!

Heh, yes! We're a family of 5 and we only gross about 42 grand right now. We get by fine, so you shouldn't have a bit of trouble with nearly an extra 50 grand more than we've got. No worres.

Pay a tithe of 10 percent of that and God will multiply the 80.

Support a family of 5 whats? Walruses?
Seriously, while it is possible to live beyond your means no matter how much you make, any reasonable person would say that 90K is plenty for a family of 5 humans.

It depends on where you live because the cost of living is higher in certain areas. But as long as you budget right and save right, your family of 5 should be able to live decent on that salary.

I am so sick of well-to-do people trying to figure out how to get by on plenty of money.

Did anyone else see the CNN story about the poor family whose father lost his job and now they had to somehow survive on just the mother's $150k salary?

I threw up a little in my mouth.

Very nicely -- except, possibly, on the California coast. In most areas, that is plenty of money.
