Lets say if I dreamed of killing someone in my dream, is this a sin. If you have a sexual dream, is this also a sin? If the answer is no, what about lucid dreaming. I will define lucid dreaming if you are unsure what it means. When you are lucid, you are fully aware that you are dreaming. Sometimes you can even control the course of the dream with your mind, I have a few a year. Whenever I have one, I change it into a sexual dream for my own pleasure, is this a sin since I'm controlling my dream to have sex?

If you are in control of what you are doing and the choices you are making, then yes, you are accountable for what you do. If you are purposely sinning in a dream, then you are in fact sinning. But if you are not in control (and you know when you are/are not), then it is not a sin. For God only holds us accountable for something we have control over. He is a merciful and just God.

I wouldn't think so. There is always an element of non control in dreams. I have had many lucid dreams and I am still aware that any element can enter or leave it that I am NOT in control of. I don't completely control it and again, it's a dream so no. Our dreams are something that happens in our unconscious or semi conscious state. It's not a sin to have a sexual dream or a dream where you murder someone. Besides, what happens in dreams don't always mean the obvious.
Common dreams like falling ....or having teeth fall out...mean you fear losing control. I have lucid dreams where I think I'm in control and something odd happens. I wouldn't sweat it....it means nothing as far as if we sin.

Lucid dreaming with sexual images at play and killing people is a sin, but if you are sleeping and dreaming those its not a sin. The devils comes and tries to control you thru dreams. Don't fall for it pray and ask God our Lord for Guidance and strength.

Normally you cannot control your dreams, so no that is not a sin. In the case of lucid dreams then yes that would be a sin.

LOL not that I know of and I have been through quite a few of the different protistant denominations. ;) Dreams are a reflection human nature. How can you stop dreaming after all? Ive never heard anything about burning in hell for those dreams but then I suppose most people dont preach about burning in hell any more.

I hope a priest/minister answers this for you. I would love to know a professional take on this. Though even then, I get the feeling the answer will differ from denomination to denomination.

:)

If you are learned enough to control your dreams then that is a sin. That would be called lust. If you dream something and you don't act on it, it is not a sin. But when you dream and you make your self dream that, you are lusting. May God Bless

Absolutely you sinner. You should be hiding your head in a bandage of guilt for allowing yourself ANY pleasure that is considered a sin. Every time you think a evil thought or sexual thought or have a dream about same, you are screwing your god. Now go repent somewhere and go to church every day until your head is cleansed of all this filth.

Do some thing else (like the completed opposite) watch toy tale or like 100 and one dalmations or some thing. Or like go skateboarding or hije in the wods or some thing or like bake cookies or study a e book. do exactly some thing to get your innovations off it. i understand how you sense, i'm interior of a similar boat as you. it really is seen a sin, and also you're precise that he will forgive you, yet you cant start up masturbating questioning "Oh, this is okay because God will forgive me in any case so it would not remember" because it truly is not any longer the way you earn forgiveness. visit confession.

I'd be more concerned about the things that you do while awake.
Have you ever lied? Stolen? Had sex outside of marriage?
Forget about your dreams, your actual sins will take you to Hell unless you repent and trust Christ.

guard your thoughts first. Being sexual is not bad in and of itself. We are created that way. But it can distract you and isolate you from others if you think on it too much. Very much like alcohol or drugs. We are creatures of habit. The narrow path is called that because it is easy to fall from. Become noble in your love. That is all. Forgive yourself and do your best. Christ watch over you. Saying prayers before going to bed helps your know.
