stepped up to go. I was shocked by the other cops cowardice. Why didn't they all go? Isn't that their job?

They say that the movie is extrememly "histrically accurate" and in it the Sargent looks at the rest of these officers like they were complete cowards, and I would think that in such an extreme situation with an obviouse shortage of personel that every "swingin dick" would be needed in those buildings. When the asked for voluteers and noone stepped forward at first I thought ok so everyones going. In the military thats how it is everyone "goes up the hill". Are not the police para-military?

Since when was it a cops job to go into a burning building with no protection?

If they would have received word that one of the terrorists survived crashing into the tower, and was now running around shooting people with a gun, then it would be their job. Other than that......it's all firemen. Same reason firemen will stage in an area away from a scene if there is a report of violence or weapons on scene......then it's our job to go in first.

Anytime a firefighter or cop is asked to volunteer, it is an above & beyond the call of duty situation. I'm not going to question the courage of anyone who balks at a suicide mission. If anything, I would question the sanity of the 5. That is not part of the job.

Now repeat after me, "it's only a movie, It's only a movie..." Remember that. It is only a movie.

uhhh its also what they call a movie too..... a movie is entertainment, but its never a perfect replica of true events.. artistic license and their translation of events is usually skewed

that would be like believing the movie JFK is a totally true movie
