well im 18 years old and i just got my second wreck for the year. i have state farmers insurance and i am under my dads policy and i drive a 97 chevy z71. well i pay my insurance every six months and i would like to know how much will my insurance go up. Before the wrecks i payed about 600 every 6 months and i still havent payed the bill with my 1st accident. will my dads insurance go through the roof on this second accident...this accident was 100% my fault. luckily in both accidents they were minor damages. the 1st accident was just the fron taillight and this second one was just her front side. my truck didnt get damages since she hit my tire and nothing is wrong with it.

Yikes....my daughter did the same thing when she was 16 - she just turned 20. She totalled her car and the car she hit in her first accident and then her second she totalled the truck she hit and had a lot of damage to her explorer. You did not do as much damage so your situation might be different. Her insurance went from 1,800 to 3,200 a year - full coverage. She has stayed accident free since then and just this year her insurance went down to about 2,400 a year. But now she just got a speeding ticket and our insurance company said she will probably be declined when her insurance is ready for renewal in a couple of months. So she is definitely paying the price for her past accidents, etc. Hopefully since you accidents weren't as bad your coverage won't increase too much?! Insurance is no fun to pay but definitely something you gotta have.

I was thinking double, but triple isn't out of the question. Traffic school will help some if you haven't taken it already. I'm not sure about the laws in your state, but in FL you can take traffic school up to 5 times, but not more than once every six months. This will reduce the points on your license, and hopefully take a little off the insurance bill.
