I've believed that eating spicy food makes you fat. But recently I read a magazine article that said spicy food actually increases the metabolism of your body. So I want to know if there is any truth in it.

The spices in the food, like black pepper and cayenne, increase circulation and therefor can increase your metabolism. On the other hand if the spicy food in question is also high in fat or calories then the extra calorie burning boost you get from the spice is nullified. Cayenne is also available in capsules as well.

The spice in the food will increase your metabolism, but if you're eating very fatty spicy food, you're defeating the purpose of the spice.
