I need to kill 230,000 people. It's all part of my secret plan. What would you do?

How is this different from God causing/allowing the Asian tsunami and then excusing it by saying, "it's all part of God's plan, which we cannot understand." ?

For one, a political leader did not create anyone they are not his to do with as he pleases. God can do whatever He pleases with us. We are His creations (We are not all His children - that part is up to us).

God created a perfect, beautiful world, placed in it two humans, and gave the m a choice as to whether or not they would believe Him and serve Him. It wasn't like He made temptation everywhere, just made it available, so that He wouldn't have made them serve Him. The humans made a wrong choice. They chose to find out what evil is. Without that choice the earth and all that is therein would not be dying. It wasn't God who made the choice. God withheld some of the punishment we deserved by His grace, and even covered Adam and Eve's sin-exposed nakedness with an animal skin. That sacrifice looked forward to the One who would eventually come to take our sin away. Then, when the world was ready (one language over much of it, one system of government over much of it), He sent His son to die on the cross for our sins. We didn't have to die for or sins anymore. He did it for us. Can you imagine the infinite God of the universe, became a man to suffer the punishment for our sins. And yet we do not accept Him, we do not appreciate Him, we should fall on our knees before the God of the universe who created us anyway, how much more should we worship Him now that He has paid the price to make us, not only His creation, but also His sons and daughters.. Anyone can come to Him. He holds no one back. Everyone in the world can come to Him. Just get on the path and go. What is the path? Jesus! He said "I am the Way, the Truth and the Life, NO man comes to the Father but by Me."

We should expect to be able to follow the thinking of a sane adult. But, do you expect a toddler to be able to follow your thinking? We are much closer in thinking to a newborn, than we are to God. He is not our genie. He doesn't have to answer to us. We will answer to Him! He does not have to stand between us and every consequence of the Fall and our continued sin. Like people wonder why God would allow sexual diseases. I'm not sure about the why, except maybe to wake us up out of our slumbering roll towards death, but most could be wiped out by one (1) generation who followed the natural law of one man, one woman for life. Maybe there are other forces at work that make tsunamis and hurricanes a natural outcome to our sins now. While He could step in, would it help us in the end? Would more be saved if He had stopped the storm, or did more get saved through the hardship of the storm? We may never know.
I'm glad I'm not God, because there are so many people i would have taken out of this world already for the hurt they have caused, sadly enough one of those is me! I'm so glad God is long-suffering, not wanting anyone to perish, but all to come to repentance! How long will God wait for you? Will you wait too long?

Because one is a man, the other God. Big difference.
God is all knowing, you're not; all powerful, you're not. God is completely just, you're not. God is holy, you're not. God's going to judge you, you're not going to judge Him.

It's not, not really, except that political leaders are real.
